Blue Lock Live Action Movie: All Confirmed Cast Members So Far

The Blue Lock live-action film is shaping up to be one of the summer’s most talked-about adaptations. Since production released its first poster and began a staged rollout of character visuals, fans have been trading takes, comparisons, and cautious optimism. So far, the project has announced a small, focused roster of actors chosen to bring the manga’s intense, ego-driven soccer drama to life.

This also includes the lead, Fumiya Takahashi, and several familiar faces from Japanese TV and pop culture. Producers say casting emphasized both visual fit and real soccer skill, and the reveal pace suggests more names will surface before the film arrives in theaters in summer 2026.

The production is revealing its cast in waves, each announcement accompanied by a visual meant to reassure fans that these actors can match the manga characters’ looks and energy. Fumiya Takahashi will play the story’s determined protagonist, Yoichi Isagi. Promotional art and the poster centered on him were the first major reveals, and Takahashi himself commented that he approached the role with respect and hard work.

“I will be playing the role of Isagi Yoichi. There is no greater honor or joy than this. This is a work that I approached with the utmost respect and determination. With the support of everyone involved, I believe it will become a successful work.”

Kaito Sakurai, known for roles in recent adaptations, was tapped to play Bachira, the wild dribbler whose unpredictability is crucial to Team Z’s chemistry. Casting notes highlight that the team wanted actors who could physically sell both on-field flair and off-field quirks.

A member of Naniwa Danshi (boy band), Kyohei Takahashi, will portray Chigiri, the lightning-quick winger whose speed comes with personal doubts and a dramatic arc in the source material. The casting intends to capture Chigiri’s fragile confidence and explosive movement.

Kota Nomura takes on Kunigami, the power forward with strong ideals. Nomura is someone who can match the physical presence and moral backbone Kunigami brings to conflicts with other players. Yuzu Aoki was revealed in a later visual as Igarashi (listed as Gurimu Igarashi in the film materials), rounding out more of Team Z’s roster. This further indicates the growing sense that the production will try to include several fan-favorite faces.

The cast list expanded with Sho Nishigaki’s reveal as Asahi Naruhaya. Oricon’s coverage included the new solo visual and stressed the steady drip of character art the movie team is using to keep momentum. These announcements come from official film accounts and established entertainment outlets.

How the Live-Action Film Is BringingBlue Lock to Life

Behind these casting reveals is CREDEUS, the production company that’s emphasized realism as a guiding principle. CREDEUS says it held large-scale auditions (over a thousand participants were mentioned) and placed heavy weight on soccer experience, acting ability, and the actor’s personal “ego”, which is a core theme in the Blue Lock story.

The team also began intensive training well before principal photography, reportedly working with professional soccer coaches to get movement, ball control, and match rhythm right.

“Including the lead role, we held a large scale audition with over 1,000 participants. We placed strong emphasis on soccer experience, visual presence, acting ability, and personal character.”

For readers who love the source material, Blue Lock’s premise is extreme by sports manga standards. The story shows 300 strikers isolated in a survival-style training program to create Japan’s ultimate egoistic striker. Ego Jinpachi’s “God of Football” theory is the engine behind this project. And the manga’s appetite for dramatic close-ups, inner monologues, and exaggerated motion is part of what will make a faithful live-action adaptation difficult.

The casting choices so far suggest the filmmakers are betting on actors who can act the internal strain as skilfully as they run and shoot. The confirmed roster gives fans reasons to be hopeful. But translating Blue Lock’s unique energy into live action will be a high-wire act. If the filmmakers can marry real soccer movement with the source material’s brutal psychology, this could be one of the more interesting sports adaptations in years.
