Actor Shriya Pilgaonkar has joined the cast of Baara Number, an upcoming found-footage horror film directed by actor-comedian Vir Das and co-created with Kavi Shastri. The film is being developed as a genre project built around the found-footage format, a style that has seen limited use in mainstream Indian cinema.

The film stars Vir Das alongside Sheeba Chaddha, Arunoday Singh, Ahsaas Channa, Atul Kulkarni, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Suhail Nayyar, Puja Sarup, and Naveen Kaushik. Details of Pilgaonkar’s character in the film have not been disclosed.

The casting adds to a growing slate of theatrical projects for Pilgaonkar. She made her film debut in 2013 with the Marathi movie Ekulti Ek (also written as Ek Kulti Ek), directed, written and produced by her father, acclaimed Marathi actor-director Sachin Pilgaonkar.

She is already attached to Haiwaan, directed by Priyadarshan and starring Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar, as well as Mirzapur: The Film.

With Baara Number now confirmed, she has secured three film announcements within a single year.
