Bill Hader’s Barry Follow-up Is a Horror Movie, Title & Details Revealed

More details about Bill Hader‘s next project following HBO’s Barry have come to light, including what the film’s title is and what it’s about.

What do we know about Bill Hader’s new movie?

According to a new report from Deadline, Hader’s next project will be a horror movie, titled They Know. The movie is set to begin production in Los Angeles this spring. No other casting information or release details have been made available as of yet. Hader will write and direct the project, though, alongside starring in it.

According to a description of the movie, They Know will center around “a divorced dad (Hader) who grows suspicious that his ex-wife is secretly dating a mysterious man who is having a strange influence on their children.”

For Hader, this will be his next major role following Barry, a comedy crime drama that he created alongside Alec Berg. The series ran for four seasons across 2018-2023 and was widely praised, with Hader winning several Emmys for his role in the show.

Following Barry, Hader hasn’t done a ton, but will be a busy 2026. He’s set to star in the upcoming The Cat in the Hat movie which releases on November 6, 2026, alongside production of his movie.

Prior to Barry, Hader was known primarily for his comedic work, having been a longtime cast member of Saturday Night Live. He’s also starred in movies like Superbad, Trainwreck, The Skeleton Twins, and more.
