‘Dhurandhar’ movie day 1 morning report: Strong star cast doesn’t fully translate to seats – The Statesman
The much-awaited spy action thriller ‘Dhurandhar’ has hit the screens on 5 December 2025, and the first morning shows show a mixed start. According to box office tracker Sacknilk, the film earned around ₹5.92 crore net in India on its first day across all languages.
For Hindi 2D screenings, morning occupancy stood at 15.49% with cities showing mixed performance. Pune led the pack with 20% occupancy followed by Chennai at 21%, Jaipur at 23%, Hyderabad also at 20%.

Cities like Kolkata and Ahmedabad saw lower numbers around 11%, while Surat lagged with just 5%.
IMAX shows draw more attention for Dhurandhar
Dhurandhar’s IMAX 2D shows witnessed higher occupancy. The morning occupancy for IMAX shows was 24.82% nationally. NCR and Ahmedabad stood out with an impressive 41% occupancy while Kolkata had 33%, Lucknow 25%. Mumbai saw 17% occupancy for IMAX morning shows.

About ‘Dhurandhar’ movie
Directed, written, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar’ brings together cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.
Produced under Jio Studios and B62 Studios, the film reportedly draws inspiration from real-life events that involve RAW and covert operations. These include Operation Lyari which targeted local gangs in Karachi, Pakistan.
Principal photography for ‘Dhurandhar’ movie took place between July 2024 and October 2025. It spanned locations like Thailand, Mumbai, Punjab, Ladakh.
At 214 minutes runtime, ‘Dhurandhar’ ranks among one of the longest Indian films ever made.
