“I was cast one day before the shoot” for One Two Cha Cha Cha, says Nyrraa Banerji : Bollywood News – Bollywood Hungama

Actor Nyrraa Banerji has opened up about her unexpected return to the big screen, revealing that she was cast in One To Cha Cha Cha just a day before the shoot began. In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, the actor shared how the opportunity came to her at the last minute while she was in Dubai.

“I was literally in Dubai sitting with my friends. I got a call, I got a narration, and then they told me that tomorrow you have to fly back for our shoot,” Nyrraa said. “I was cast one day before. There was no audition, nothing.” According to the actor, the makers had been considering several names before finalising her. What worked in her favour was an Instagram photograph she had posted during the lockdown. “They saw that red sari picture and said, ‘She does 80 percent of the job just by looking like this.’ That’s how it happened,” she revealed.

Speaking about why she chose the film, Nyrraa said the script stood out for its simplicity. “There was no intimacy, no unnecessary comic or forced emotion. It was pure situational comedy, something I really like,” she said, adding that the narration felt “very fresh” at a time when, according to her, many scripts tend to feel repetitive.

The film also allowed her to break away from her glamorous image. “I’m mostly attached to a modern glamorous image, but here I’m playing a Bihari girl — glamorous, but in a very desi way,” she explained. Despite having no preparation time, Nyrraa began shooting immediately, starting with a dance sequence on her first day. “Usually I prepare for weeks. This time, I picked up the accent on the go,” she said, calling the project “meant to be.”

One To Cha Cha Cha, which released in January this year, features an ensemble cast including Ashutosh Rana, Lalit Prabhakar and other noted actors. Positioned as a situational comedy, the film marks Nyrraa’s return to Hindi cinema after a gap and has been drawing attention for its content-driven narrative and unconventional casting choices.
