Dhurandhar Real Story: The Ranveer Singh starrer Bollywood movie, ‘Dhurandhar’ has been released in theatres today! What Is The Real Story Of Dhurandhar?

The real story which has been the inspiration for Bollywood film, ‘Dhurandhar’ is ‘Operation Lyari’. This ‘Operation Lyari’ was the longest-running covert operation conducted in Karachi’s notorious Lyari area. Operation Lyari took place between 2012 and 2017. Lyari, once known as ‘Little Brazil’, has now transformed into centre of drug syndicates, arms trafficking, and violent gang rivalries.

Dhurandhar Plot

The story of ‘Dhurandhar’ starts off with the longest hijack in Indian aviation history, the 1999 Kandahar episode. With this unfortunate incident and the parliament attack in 2001, the Indian government is rattled. The intelligence community makes Hamza (Ranveer Singh) go under the terrorist network under their new mission, ‘Operation Dhurandhar’. Hamza poses as a Pakistani to work his way up the network through Rehman Baloch (Akshaye Khanna). Their secret mission is made more difficult by Major Iqbal (Arjun Rampal) from the ISI.
