Solo Leveling Movie: All Release Date Rumors, Story & Streaming Details

The Solo Leveling anime is reportedly making a return, but not with a Season 3 this time. Instead, it appears they’re planning for a full movie! Yes, you read that right. But, where is this news coming from?

Well, Kiwoon Securities, the company that publishes Solo Leveling in South Korea, reported that the next Solo Levelingproject will be a movie. This must be why season 3 hasn’t been announced yet.

Currently, [Solo Leveling’s] next project will be produced as a movie rather than a seasonal TV production.

Especially after the recent success of the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie, the Korean company said a Solo Leveling movie is also expected to perform well. So, the anime that earned Crunchyroll’s Anime of the Year title is now heading to theaters this time.

Given the success of the [Demon Slayer] movie, it is expected that the [Solo Leveling] will have exponential box office success.

Below is all the available information we know so far, regarding its release date, where to watch, and plot expectations.

Solo Leveling Anime Movie Expected Release Window

The confirmation for the upcoming Solo Leveling movie is still up in the air for now. However, based on what’s mentioned in the reports (which you can check out below from the embedded X post), it seems that the creators are planning to release it in late 2026.

The current goal for the anime is not “Solo Leveling Season 3,” but rather “Solo Leveling Movie.”

That’s what the reports are claiming, but considering that pre-production for the movie might not have even started yet, it’s safe to assume the movie won’t be coming out in 2026. Or maybe not even in 2027. Still, to stay a bit optimistic, we can hope for a late 2027 release.

Where Will the Solo Leveling Movie Release Online?

As both Season 1 and Season 2 of Solo Leveling are already available on Crunchyroll, and since Crunchyroll is apparently the anime’s official global licensor so far, the movie might also be available to watch on their platform once it finally releases (if it does).

However, before that, the first and foremost place to watch it will, of course, be in theaters – just like how Infinity Castle got its theatrical release. After all, that’s exactly what the production committee is making the movie for: to get into the anime film market.

What Might Happen in the Upcoming Solo Leveling Movie?

Nothing has been confirmed about the movie’s production, let alone its storyline. But our guess is that it might continue directly from where Solo Leveling Season 2 left off, following the original manhwa. That’s what the Demon Slayer movies have been doing, after all, and quite successfully too.

The movie might therefore adapt the story starting from Chapter 111, right after the events of the Jeju Island arc. In Season 2, Jinwoo defeats Beru and adds him to his shadow army. Next, we might see him further expand his reign and face off against the other Monarchs, just as it happens in the manhwa.
