Juniper Green Energy plans to raise ₹1,800 crore through an IPO. The issue, priced at ₹214-225 per share, will open for bookings on July 30.

An IPO involves a fresh issue of equity shares, without an offer component. Investors can bid for at least 66 shares and in multiple shares.
The company plans to use ₹683 crore from the net proceeds to repay certain loans. It will also invest ₹729 crore in its subsidiaries – Juniper Green Gamma One, Juniper Green Kite and Juniper Green Power Five – to enable them to pay off outstanding debts. The remaining money will be used for the general purpose of the company. Total outstanding loans in the consolidated fund stood at ₹ 13,266 crore at the end of June.
IPO valuation
At the upper end of the Juniper Green Energy IPO price band, the company is expected to command a post-IPO market capitalization of around ₹12,800 crore.
The company will offer a discount of ₹21 per equity share to eligible employees in the employee subscription section.
The company has appointed ICICI Securities, HSBC Securities and Capital Markets (India), JM Financial and Kotak Mahindra Capital Company as lead book managers in the issue.
The Gurugram-based company claims to be the 10th largest independent power producer in India. By June, production has expanded to 50 projects with a production capacity of 7,910.20 MW (10,247.06 MWp), a significant increase from the first solar power project with a production capacity of 100 MW in March 2020.
Out of 50 projects, 20 projects are operating with a capacity of 1,794.80 MW, while 19 contracted projects are under construction with a capacity of 2,875.40 MW. The other 11 awarded projects under construction have a total capacity of 3,240 MW.
Backed by Singapore-based AT Capital Group, the company has expanded its renewable energy portfolio with projects including India’s first commercial 100 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Rajasthan. It has also started phased commissioning of the Sustainable and Deliverable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project that integrates solar, wind and battery storage.
